ITM 2013, the «Vanilla Island» Tourist Trade Fair
The second edition of the International Madagascar Tourist Trade Fair will be held from 30 May to 1 June 2013.

A new species of burrowing lizard, named «Moby Dick» for its resemblance to a whale, has been discovered in Madagascar by an international team of researchers, the CNRS (National scientific research centre) in Montpellier announced on Tuesday, January 15, 2013.
Named Sirenoscincus MobyDick by researchers, alluding to the famous white whale in Herman Melville’s novel, this species has a unique combination of anatomical features found in land vertebrates such as amphibians, reptiles, mammals and birds.
The Great Island is home to the smallest chameleon in the world, called Brookesia micra. The specimen was discovered in March 2012 near Cape Amber on Nosy Hara archipelago in the north of the country.
This is the scientific name given to the new primate species discovered in the Sahafina forest (near Mantadia National Park, east of the island) in late 2011.
It is less than 10 cm long, with a greyish-brown coat. This is the 19th microcebus species found in Madagascar.
