Majed Akl has been on the Microsoft Education team for the last 9 years, and is currently the Director of Education industry, Primary and secondary Education, Microsoft Middle East and Africa based in Dubai. Majed works with ministries of Education, Education leaders, Schools, and Education Solution Providers to help them realize the full benefits of adopting technology in education. Majed is an industry veteran with over 22 years of experience. Majed’s career started in education as a computer literacy teacher before joining Microsoft in 1999. Majed has a diverse experience in multiple disciplines including Technical support, Services, pre-sales, and marketing; spanning roles in Microsoft corporate headquarters and in Microsoft field offices. He has worked on many Microsoft technologies including server and tools, productivity, security, cloud, and devices. Majed holds an MBA from Indiana University-USA, a Master of Engineering degree from Auburn University-USA, and a Computer and Communications Engineering degree from American University of Beirut. Majed is also a certified PROSCI change management practitioner and a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.
