Tania Ahmad

Head of Pastoral Care/Head of English

Arcadia High School

I am from London, UK with a depth of experience in GCSE & A-level English, and have been teaching for eight years. I come from a strong educational background, with a BA (Hons) in English Literature, PGCE in English, a Masters degree in English Education (UCL) and will be completing my NPQ in Behaviour and Culture this year. Alongside being Head of Pastoral Care for Key Stage 3&4 and Head of English, I have held the distinctive positions of Teaching and Learning Lead Practitioner, and the Royal Shakespeare Company Lead; the latter partnership afforded Tania the opportunity of co-directing the performance of her students in ‘Romeo and Juliet’ at the prestigious Barbican theatre in London. I have also been appointed an iGCSE Examiner for English by Edexcel. I have also spearheaded the Oracy initiative at my school, receiving specialist training and delivering school-wide sessions as presenting at a global conference; I have also had my blog post published on Oracy. I have a strong interest in professional learning, and as part of this, I created the digital teaching newsletter ‘The Arc’ which showcases the outstanding T&L across my school.
