The Summit welcomed 260 participants, including embassy officials, representatives of overseas national tourism boards, top Chinese tour operators and industry professionals.
Pre-pandemic, China had become the world's largest outbound tourism market and an important “engine” for global tourism growth. Leaders of embassies and representatives of foreign tourism boards stressed the continued importance of China to global tourism and confirmed it being a major target market due to it's number of travellers and their spending power.
Although China is not yet open, it was agreed that digital marketing and virtual events are an ideal platform to promote your destination and product offering. Many organisations have already signed up for COTTM Online – where you can meet the Chinese tour operators who attended the recent Summit.
