The organisers of the China Outbound Travel & Tourism Market (COTTM) have previously hosted a ‘COTTM Summit’. The summit explored the new opportunities, challenges, needs an responsibilities of the outbound travel and tourism industry in a post pandemic world.
The COTTM Summit 2021 was successfully held in Beijing on 14th October. Dai Bin, President of China Tourism Academy (National Culture and Tourism Ministry Data Centre), made a keynote speech at the Summit. Officials and representatives of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporate, Maldives Embassy in China, Polish National Tourist Office in Beijing, Ministry of Tourism, Cambodia, Israel Governmemt Tourism, Turismo de Aragón (España) as well as the Chinese outbound tour operators, such as Caissa, Huacheng International Travel Group, China International Travel Service Shenzhen Co., Ltd, Beijing Spring Tour, Fashion Travel, HHtravel & Ctrip TM Travel, 6renyou.com, Yqf.com and Contineo Marketing Group, a total of 260 people attended the Summit.
The Chinese outbound market, the world’s largest originating travel source market for many years pre-COVID 19, is playing a crucial role in the recovering of the global travel industry.
Whilst many countries have launches the ‘Vaccine Passport’, the Chinese government is also launched the electronic version of the ‘Health Certificate for International Travel’. Many countries have opened bilateral or multilateral negotiations on mutual recognition of ‘Vaccine Passports’ which have been facilitating the gradual recovery of international tourism and cross-border business activities.
