Etisalat to support UAE’s drive to digitize education, make mobility smarter

Pursuing the path of digital education, Etisalat has got into a pact with the Ministry of Education to modernize and develop infrastructure of schools across UAE keeping in line with the UAE’s 2021 digital vision for all citizens in the country to implement a digital education across schools in the country.

Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, Undersecretary of Ministry of Education for Control and Support Services said: “With this partnership, the ministry aims to develop a smart education environment in schools contributing to the improvement of the educational system by utilizing Etisalat services and its technical capabilities to transform to a digital education in the country”.

The MoU was signed by Al Hammadi and Abdulla Ebrahim Al Ahmed, Senior Vice President, Government Sales, Etisalat.

Enhancing overall spectrum

“The ministry is working to expand its partnerships with all leading government institutions to enhance the education sector in the UAE with the best relevant industry practices. This is in line with the leadership’s vision to support our national objectives and the UAE Vision 2021 to transition into a sustainable and knowledge based economy,” added Al Hammadi.

Etisalat will implement latest solutions to modernize the schools technology infrastructure and bring high-speed wireless Internet access to classrooms enabling students and teachers to quickly and securely access modern learning resources to enhance learning content.

Implementing automotive surveillance solutions

Also, Etisalat Digital has announced its partnership with Cars Taxi to implement smart surveillance solutions and analytics across its fleet of 2180 taxis in Dubai enabling them to manage and conduct real-time monitoring of all the taxis bringing in efficiency and improving customer experience and safety.

This end-to-end automotive surveillance solution is implemented in compliance with RTA’s (Road and Transport Authority) directive to deploy CCTV cameras in taxis in order to enhance customer safety. In addition to Etisalat’s M2M connectivity, the solution makes use of Etisalat Digital’s state-of-the-art Internet of Things (IoT) platforms and supported by latest IOT Command Center.

Strengthen automotive portfolio

Salvador Anglada, Chief Business Officer, Etisalat said: “We are proud to be associated with Cars Taxi on this prestigious project as one of the key initiatives that contributes to digitizing the public transport industry. This is just the beginning of this relationship as we plan to further strengthen our automotive portfolio to enable digital transformation of the public transportation industry.”
