UAE private schools’ fees to be assessed by end of April
The Ministry of Education has announced that it will complete its assessment of private schools that have applied to raise their enrolment fees for the academic year 2014-2015 by the end of this month.
The process began three weeks ago said Jameela Al Muhairi, who runs the inspectors responsible for assuring and raising the quality and standards of private schools.
Schools that want to increase fees need follow Ministry procedures, which include submitting a standardised application justifying the rise, followed by inspection visits.
The Ministry accepts or rejects applications based on improvements to the school, whether in services, staff or infrastructure.
Statistics from the Knowledge and Human Development Authority for last year revealed tuition at 42 per cent of private schools cost less than Dh10,000, while 15 per cent charged more than Dh40,000.
