University of Fujairah, Al Maktoum College of Higher Education sign cooperation agreement

FUJAIRAH, 10th April, 2018 (WAM) -- The University of Fujairah and the Al Maktoum College of Higher Education in Scotland have signed a joint agreement to reinforce their cooperation in the various academic and cultural areas, which will contribute to achieving their goals.

The agreement was signed by Saeed bin Mohammed Al Raqbani, Special Advisor to the Fujairah Ruler and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University, and Mirza Al Sayegh, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the College.

According to the agreement, the college will provide scholarships for the university’s students to participate in its summer education and training programmes in the United Kingdom, UK. These scholarships are part of the college’s efforts to promote social dialogue between cultures, by providing Emirati and Arab university students with the opportunity to meet and communicate.

Al Raqbani said that the cooperation agreement will help achieve the university’s goal to provide quality higher education for members of the community, as well as to promote charity work among UAE nationals and reinforce the values of solidarity and joint cooperation between community members, both inside and outside the country.

He highlighted the importance of cooperation in social development, training students, and providing a suitable and innovative academic environment that will motivate them, as well as supporting scientific research and applied and postgraduate studies.

Al Sayegh went on to express the college’s desire to support major universities in the UAE and the Arab region, as well as to assist students, promote the role of universities, and support the country’s education system.
