Born in Dubai, Soraya is currently overseeing the MENAT Division of Crimson Education. She became one of Crimson's youngest Regional Directors at only 24 years of age. Before graduating Magna Cum Laude in Middle Eastern Studies and Anthropology from Columbia University, Soraya founded Karvan, a fin-tech non-profit building innovative blockchain technology to improve the lives of refugees around the world. For this, she received the Columbia Innovation Award and was a semi-finalist for the CTA Startup of the Year and the world's largest Social Venture competition, the Hult Prize.
A former Crimson student herself, Soraya returned to the UAE to oversee the MENAT Division of the global company, opening Crimson's first MENAT office. She works with both the public and private sectors to help create the future of education and empower individuals to become equipped for a changing world. At the core of all Soraya has done, is a passion for the power that innovative and emerging technologies pose for alleviating large social and economic problems.
