Ministry of Education Observes World Teachers' Day

WAM DUBAI, 4th October, 2013 (WAM)--Humaid Al Qattami, Minister of Education has said the Ministry does not spare any efforts to enable teachers discharge their duties fully, stressing that the Ministry is also keen on provision of appropriate work environment to help teachers innovate and achieve excellence.

 
He expressed the confidence of the Ministry in its highly qualified teaching and administrative staff as well as other assisting technical cadres.
 
Marking the World Teachers' Day that corresponds with 5th of October each year, Al Qattami thanks all the teachers and all employees for their continuous efforts to further the education across the country. He called on the administrations in public and private schools to allocate morning gatherings at schools on Sunday to talk about the teachers allegiance and self denial.
 
The UAE minister said the UAE led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Members of Supreme Council Their Highness Rulers of Emirates, takes interest in the education and all employees, notably, the teachers. 
 
World Teachers' Day, held annually on October 5th since 1994, commemorates teachers' organisations worldwide. Its aim is to mobilise support for teachers and to ensure that the needs of future generations will continue to be met by teachers.
 
According to UNESCO, World Teachers' Day represents a significant token of the awareness, understanding and appreciation displayed for the vital contribution that teachers make to education and development.
