A forum for the future

Keeping this in mind, this year, Amity University, Dubai, held a first-of-its-kind forum of management teachers at its campus in DIAC.

Academicians in the field of management/business administration from diverse backgrounds and nationalities and from various academic institutions of Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman, along with the academic staff of Amity University, came together to promote research articles, case studies and other publications multi-disciplinary in nature.

The forum was intended to promote academic thinking of a very high order, foster applied research, cut across disciplines, and be an event that can be frequently organised, as participants may feel the need to discuss various matters of academic and research importance with regular periodicity.

Among the many issues highlighted were versatility in curriculum and teaching pedagogy, and the need to establish a robust mechanism for industry-interface.

Experts discussed the need for region-centric case studies and possible value-adds to the institutions they represent, as well as for their individual growth.

Speaking at the event, Professor A. R. Rajagopalan, assistant professor of organisational behaviour and human resources management at Amity University, emphasised on the growing need to bridge the gap between the industry and academia, and the role of academicians, who will be crucial for such interventions.

Amity University proposes to continue hosting such networking opportunities for academicians in areas of management, business and related functions.
